Jupiter is the fifth planet from our Sun and is, by far, the largest planet in the solar system. It is so massive that more than 1,300 Earths could fit inside it!
Unlike Earth, Jupiter doesn't have a solid surface. It is a "Gas Giant" made mostly of hydrogen and helium. Its iconic stripes and swirls are actually cold, windy clouds of ammonia and water floating in its thick atmosphere.
The most famous feature on Jupiter is the Great Red Spot. This isn't a crater—it's a massive, swirling storm that is bigger than Earth itself and has been raging for hundreds of years!
